MOUNT PLEASANT, MI — Central Michigan University (CMU) is participating in its third annual Recyclemania, according to the Morning Sun.
Recyclemania is a 10-week national competition among 630 colleges that runs January 25 to April 2, and is a competition to see which school can recycle the most, the article noted.
"What the competition involves, is looking at the amount of recycling we have on campus versus how many students we have," said student adviser Sarah Reisner.
"It takes our numbers, what we''re recycling, composting, our waste minimization and compares it to other schools nationwide," Reisner added.
Every week, the schools'' numbers are entered in a website database and compared to the other 629 colleges and universities, the article stated.
