JACKSON, TN — The Jackson-Madison County school system is about to be lured into more privatization by hiring an outside maintenance company to save money, according to a blog in the Jackson Sun.

Privatization is really being used as a smokescreen for reducing the quality and level of services, the blog noted.

Private companies show little care about the students or the communities they work in; they are in business for the money, the blog stated.

According to the blog, the primary aim of the private company is to make a profit, and that is not in the best interest of quality public education.

Any well-managed school district the size of Jackson-Madison County is able to hire local people who will have much more interest in keeping school facilities cleaner because the children are theirs, the blog added.
