PORT CHESTER, NY — Strauss Paper Company has expanded its position at the forefront of the "green" movement, as Dominick Pizzarello completed the requirements necessary to earn the distinguished Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Associate (GA) designation, according to a press release.

LEED Professionals are individuals who have demonstrated a thorough understanding of green building practices and principles and familiarity with LEED requirements, resources and processes, and are a mark of professional excellence recognized throughout the industry, the release stated.

"We believe it is our role as experts in the cleaning and maintenance industry to educate our customers on the social, economic and environmental solutions available to help them protect the health of their workers, building occupants and the community at large," said Robert Tamilio Jr., vice president of sales and marketing at Strauss.

"Having a LEED GA on staff increases our knowledge and capabilities to continue helping our customers navigate the changing waters of the growing green movement and capitalize on the advantages the LEED rating system lends to businesses today," Tamilio added.
