VANCOUVER — Lack of satisfaction with the services of Compass Group Canada has prompted the Vancouver Island Health Authority (VIHA) to hire a new housekeeping provider, according to a press release.
Marquise Group has signed a contract to service several residential health facilities, while Acciona will begin to provide services at Royal Jubilee Hospital, the release noted.
According to the release, Compass has been under close scrutiny due to regular infection outbreaks, failed housekeeping audits and damaging WorkSafe B.C. inspections at several hospitals.
A 2008 outbreak of Clostridium difficile (C. diff) at NRGH was largely blamed on inadequate housekeeping practices, the release stated.
