Canada's Hometown Heroes nominations going until the 22

CANADA — The Hometown Hero nominations for Canada''s Earth Day are underway, according to a press release.

The Hometown Heroes award recognizes groups, businesses and individuals that have been committed to constant work to help the environment, the Earth Day Canada website reported.

Winners of the award can win from $5,000 to $10,000, depending upon which category they''re in, or even a fully paid trip to a development course and workshop about how to be Earth friendly and conserve within Canada, according to the website.

One can nominate one''s self, a friend or a small business that has been committed to conservation until April 22, the website stated.
