Open to school or university custodians in any location across the nation and world, the winners were selected from nominations made by Facebook post or e-mail, the release stated.
According to the release, ProTeam is pleased to announce winners Tina Enos from the University of Michigan and David Hodge from Montgomery City Public Schools as the recipients of free Super QuarterVac® high-efficiency particulate air (HEPA) vacuums.
"Originally, we were going to only give away one backpack," said Jacalyn High, ProTeam director of marketing.
"But the nominations we got were so deserving. Tina actually inspired this contest, and she received dozens of heartfelt posts on our Facebook page. David offered an incredible story about his experience with our backpacks. We hope that these new high-filtration, high-performance vacuums serve to improve both their lives," High added.
Enos, the winning college custodian, suffers from debilitating asthma, with attacks once triggered by the cleaning process, especially airborne dust emitted with the exhaust from her upright; those symptoms disappeared when her university switched to the backpack, the release noted.
