ROYERSFORD, PA — The Spring-Ford School Board''s vote to approve the outsourcing of janitorial services will result in the loss of several jobs, according to The Mercury.

The two-year contract with janitorial services provider Jani-King will save the district more than $1 million but it will leave at least 24 custodians without jobs come summer, the article stated.

According to the article, Jani-King will be responsible for cleaning the district buildings in the afternoon and evening.

The district pursued the option of outsourcing in order to reduce the nearly $12 million budget deficit, the article noted.
