NEW ORLEANS — A janitor is suing his former employer, claiming he wasn''t paid for overtime work, according to the Louisiana Record.
William Pena, a former employee of Ramelli Janitorial Service Inc., has filed suit against the firm, claiming Fair Labor Standards Act violations, the article stated.
According to the article, Pena claims he routinely worked an excess of 40-hour workweeks because his schedule consisted of 12-hour days.
Ramelli Janitorial Service Inc. is accused of taking advantage of Pena''s inability to speak English, which puts the company in violation of Fair Labor Standards Act and Louisiana State Law, the article noted.
