SITKA, AK — Nearly 150 passengers on the Alaska cruise ship Sea Princess were affected by a recent norovirus outbreak, according to KCAW-FM.
While the ship was being disinfected, the next departure time was delayed, the article stated.
According to the article, the delay was only four hours, but that was enough to force a route change for the ship.
While Princess Cruises says it followed U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) protocols in reporting the illness and cleaning the vessel before its latest sailing, officials did comment that two previous sailings saw higher than normal norovirus numbers, the article noted.
