BOWIE, MD — Crockett Facilities Services Inc. (CFSI) has announced that Michael Adams, Jr. was awarded the Esparza Crockett Presidential Scholarship for $2,000, according to a press release.
Adams, a senior at Oxon Hill High School in Prince George''s County, Maryland, was selected from a pool of qualified applicants based on his high academic achievements, including maintaining a weighted 4.05 GPA, the release stated.
According to the release, Adams has been accepted to the University of Maryland and the Honors College for fall 2011 and plans to study law to become an attorney.
"I''m so pleased to be able to give a scholarship to such an outstanding young man," said Cynthia Crockett, president of Crockett Facilities Services.
"Michael recognizes the important role that education plays in helping to realize his goals. I know that he will be successful in whatever he does. I look forward to next year''s applicants," Crockett added.
The annual Esparza Crockett Presidential Scholarship is open to employees and children or grandchildren of CFSI or its subsidiaries, the release noted.
