LIVE OAK, FL — A decision by Suwannee County Commissioners could leave some county employees without a job, according to the Suwannee Democrat.

On Tuesday, commissioners decided to look into the privatization of county custodial duties, the article stated.

According to the article, should the idea become a reality, five full-time custodians could see themselves on the unemployment line.

"I am very upset about this. In fact, I''m darn right mad," said custodial head crew leader Helen Stoudemire.

"We are very loyal, faithful workers. I''ve been her 23 years and I have some custodians who have been here 10," Stoudemire added.

The move was suggested in order to cut costs, including supplies and benefits, the article noted.
