CHATTANOOGA, TN — When it comes to methamphetamine (meth) lab seizures, Tennessee is the number one offending state in the country, according to WTVC-TV.
Once federal funding for meth lab cleanup dried up, the state was left footing the bill for the majority of the meth labs found in the state, the article stated.
According to the article, the cost of these cleanups could be curtailed by the use of a smaller containment system.
Sitting by itself, it looks like a simple storage unit but it’s really an authorized central storage unit for the materials authorities find in an abandoned meth lab, the article noted.
"We''ve reduced the cost significantly and made cleaning up much more doable," said Tommy Farmer, a member of the Meth Task Force.
