CANTON, MI — The lead maintenance technician for Canton Township has retired, according the Observer and Eccentric.
Greg Hester started his career with the township 21 years ago as a maintenance technician on a much smaller scale, the article stated.
According to the article, at the time, the township employed half as many workers and had half as many buildings to maintain.
On Tuesday, Hester was honored by the board of trustees for his years of service, the article noted.
"Throughout his career, Greg''s commitment and loyalty to the job has always shown passionately," said Phil LaJoy, Canton Township supervisor.
"We never expected anything less than Greg''s utmost attention when emergency maintenance situations arose, and he never disappointed," LaJoy added.
