MONROE, MI — Flat Rock Community Schools have delayed a decision to outsource part of its custodial services, according to the Monroe News.
During a meeting last week, the board of education decided to delay the ratification of a two-year contract with GCA Services for the district''s afternoon cleaning services, the article stated.
According to the article, the decision was made to give the union representing district custodians more time to negotiate a similar contract with the district.
Outsourcing is one method the district is looking at in order to erase a $2.1 million deficit from its budget, the article noted.
