Green roof project underway

SYRACUSE, NY — Work has begun on the green roof that will be atop the Monroe Building, according to The Post-Standard.

The project is a collaborative effort between Jeff DeRoberts, the building owner, Helping Hands and MotherPlants, a nursery based in Ithaca that specializes in growing plants for green roofs, the article stated.

According to the article, a grant of nearly $93,000 was also provided by Onondaga County''s Save the Rain Green Improvement Fund.
