CINCINNATI — Cintas Corporation has announced it is extending the deadline for the inaugural Courage Award until September 16, 2011, according to a press release.

Designed to honor everyday heroes who act in extraordinary ways, the Courage Award will provide one grand prizewinner with the choice of a cruise, sports experience or golf vacation trip for two, along with $1,000 spending cash, the release stated.

According to the release, examples of actions taken by a Courage Award nominee could include, but are not limited to, coming to the aid of an injured stranger, utilizing CPR and/or automated external defibrillator (AED) to save the life of a fellow employee or stranger while performing daily routine or helping to extinguish a fire.

Winners will be announced in October at the National Safety Show (NSC) in Philadelphia, the release noted.
