Wednesday''s Ask the Experts question from a cleaning professional on the International Custodial Advisors Network (ICAN) "Ask the Experts" page: I have just faux painted my concrete floors. I used a Behr wet look sealer, but after curing for 24 hours when I slid furniture across the floor the paint peels. What can I do to prevent this?

The answer:

If you painted on top of the seal, note that sealer #985 is sold as a clear top-coat, meaning that it is what covers the paint, not the other way around. Paint peeling off an undercoat of seal means poor adhesion. The paint should have been applied first. If the seal was correctly used as a top-coat, there are several things that may have gone wrong. My best guess ... — Lynn E. Krafft, ICAN/ATEX editor
