TURTLE CREEK, PA — Health officials are confirming at least 10 cases of Legionnaires’ disease in two western Pennsylvania care facilities, according to The Chronicle.
The Allegheny County Health Department confirmed that two people were sickened at Hamilton Hills Personal Care Facility, while there are eight confirmed illnesses at the nearby LGAR Health and Rehabilitation Center, the article stated.
According to the article, no fatalities have been reported related to the outbreak but three people had to be hospitalized with pneumonia-like symptoms.
While the cause of the outbreak is still unknown, the water supplies at both facilities are being treated as a precaution, the article noted.
