BUFFALO, NY — A janitorial company must pay back wages and damages to 26 employees who worked at Ralph Wilson Stadium, according to the Buffalo News.
The decision comes after a U.S. Department of Labor investigation found the company didn''t pay its employees proper minimum wages or overtime compensation, the article stated.
According to the article, a Michigan-based company, Knights Facilities Management, was cited for violating the Fair Labor Standards Act''s minimum wage, overtime and record-keeping provisions.
The Labor Department''s Wage and Hour Division’s Buffalo Area Office found that the company was able to avoid paying overtime by switching workers to different payrolls when their hours went beyond 40 for the week, the article noted.
