Unger Helps Save the Sound with “Nifty” Opportunity
Bridgeport, CT – Unger Industrial teamed up with Save the Sound on Saturday, September 24th for National Estuaries Day at Sandy Point Beach in West Haven, CT. We participated in one of many coastal clean up’s that take place throughout the year, helping protect our most precious natural resource, Long Island Sound.
Unger proudly presented Nifty Nabbers and Baggers (collapsible trash bins) to over 75 Save the Sound volunteers, ranging from local residents and nearby colleges who collected truckloads of trash.
Unger developed a relationship with Save the Sound (a non-profit program of Connecticut Fund for the Environment) in recent weeks when a member of the marketing department saw a news segment of volunteers picking up trash at local beaches. We immediately knew our Nifty Nabber (sold at The Home Depot) would be ideal for their cause as it’s perfect for grabbing garbage; making it easier to collect and easier to reach, without continuous bending.
On a group level, we share the same passion for cleaning up the sound. Unger is a local, shoreline company located in Bridgeport, employing local, shoreline residents, extending from New Haven and Fairfield Counties. Unger hopes to partner with Save the Sound again on future projects and donated Nifty Nabbers for future events. With Long Island Sound in our back yard, Unger truly believes in their cause!
