Tuesday''s Ask the Experts question from a cleaning professional on the International Custodial Advisors Network (ICAN) "Ask the Experts" page: I am about to bid on the janitorial services for the offices of a group of doctors. The office space is 8,000 square feet, on two floors in NYC. Cleaning and disinfecting 30 exam rooms, eight bathrooms, four Labs. Do you have any suggestions in pricing this? I am not sure of the monthly budget.

The answer:

Their monthly budget is of little concern unless it is too low for you to do the work and make a profit. Medical cleaning goes slower than regular offices. The exam rooms, as you note, need cleaning and disinfection, and that will take longer. You need to determine what they want looked after. Just floors, sinks and counters, or all surfaces ... — Lynn E. Krafft, ICAN/ATEX editor
