HAMILTON, OH — Kaivac Inc. is introducing a new challenge that is similar to contests like those "most beautiful bathroom in America" contests or ''the cleanest restroom in the U.S." competitions, but with a twist, according to a press release.
It''s called the "Dirty Mop Contest," the release stated.
"We know this may sound silly and get a bit yucky, but we''ve got a very good reason for starting the ''Dirty Mop Contest,''" said Matt Morrison, communications manager for Kaivac.
"We want cleaning professionals as well as the public to become more aware of just how contaminated a mop can become. In fact, many times you’re better off not cleaning at all than to clean with a dirty mop," Morrison added.
According to the release, one of the company''s goals for its No-Touch Cleaning system and the new OmniFlex Crossover Cleaning system is to help eliminate the use of contaminated mops entirely.
To compete in the "Dirty Mop Contest," contestants are asked to upload photos of their dirty mops or mop buckets at the Kaivac Facebook site located here.
The contest runs from October 5, 2011 through November 2, 2011.
