NATICK, MA — A new plan was put forth last week outlining the possibility of consolidation for the facilities management departments of Natick Public Schools and the municipality, according to the MetroWest Daily.
Although school and municipal facilities budgets would remain separate, joint energy purchases would be promoted in the new plan, the story stated.
Town government has been without a building maintenance director for several months since Building Maintenance Supervisor Corey Lovett retired, and the district''s Facilities Services Manager Ron Clements retired last week, the story noted.
According to the article, current school district Facilities Director Bob Graham will likely be promoted to the head of the new consolidated department.
The proposed start date for the new consolidation is July 2012, which coincides with the September start of the 2012 school year, the story added.
