SAN MARCOS, TX — Members of San Marcos High School''s Texas Association of Future Educators took up their own brooms and mops to clean during and after lunches in honor of Custodian Appreciation Week, according to the San Marcos Mercury.
The club of about 25 members also cleaned with pink gloves, in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the article stated.
According to the article, after picking up trash inside and outside, wiping all the tables, sweeping and cleaning the restrooms, the club members had an even greater appreciation of what their custodians do every day.
Club members made thank you cards and bought the custodial staff a cake, the article noted.
"It was the best Custodian Appreciation Week I ever had," said Lupe Saucedo, head custodian at the high school.
