THREE VILLAGE, NY — The Three Village Central School District honored one of their own on Tuesday, according to the Three Village Patch.

Denise Kowalski, the head custodian at W.S. Mount Elementary School, was on hand to help a teenager who had fallen off a moped, the article stated.

According to the article, the teen hit his head and fell unconscious; friends of the teen then approached Kowalski for help.

Kowalski called and directed first responders to the school, assuring the teen received assistance as soon as possible, the article noted.

"Dee demonstrated sound judgment and leadership skills under pressure," said Principal Nathalie Lilavois.

"She maintained a level head and provided guidance and direction to different service providers," Lilavois added.
