Janitor accused of stealing donations

NORTON SHORES, MI — A high school janitor has been charged with a felony for allegedly stealing money from a donation jar at the school, according to The Muskegon Chronicle.

Denise Renee Delano, 47, a janitor at Mona Shores High School, was arraigned on one count of larceny from a building, which is considered a four-year felony, the article stated.

According to the article, Delano allegedly took nearly $1,200 dollars from a donation jar.

Delano was a contracted employee through Reliant Professional Cleaning, based in Grand Haven, the article noted.

The company performs background checks on its employees and Delano had no criminal history, the article added.
