CHICAGO — Environmental Services (ES) managers have until December 31 to nominate the housekeeper of their choice for the second annual Hygiene Specialist Excellence award, according to a press release.
The award was established to acknowledge the invaluable contribution of ES, the first line of defense in providing a safe patient environment and reducing health care-associated infections (HAIs), the release stated.
According to the release, nominations should include a brief description as to how the nominee has demonstrated the highest professional standards and diligence in supporting infection prevention.
The recipient will be announced on January 15, 2012, the release noted.
"This award is a great way to start the New Year by recognizing a member of your Environmental Services department," said George Clarke, chief executive officer (CEO) of UMF Corporation.
