ROCKFORD, IL — A Rockford Committee agreed to accept a bid to outsource the city''s street sweeping, according to WREX-TV.
In a 3-2 vote, the Finance and Personnel Committee approved the outsourcing contract for Elgin Sweeping Service of Chicago, the article stated.
According to the article, the move will save the city nearly $500,000.
No one would lose their jobs in the change as the current six street sweeping employees would be moved into the city''s forestry division, the article noted.
