LAKE ORION, MI — Custodians outlined their impact on the school and community at Wednesday''s board meeting, according to the Lake Orion Patch.

In an effort to stop Lake Orion Community Schools from outsourcing custodial services, two custodians gave a thorough presentation of their true value to the board of education, the article stated.

According to the article, Sandi Engel and Kathy Sandstrom wore lime green shirts that read, "Privatization hurts our children and our community."

"We are your neighbors, your friends and your co-workers. We are vested in the Lake Orion Community Schools," said Engel.

At a January 11 board meeting, the board decided that Request for Proposals (RFPs) could be drafted and submitted while they looked in to privatization as a cost saving measure, the article noted.
