NEW ORLEANS — The St. John the Baptist Parish School District is unsatisfied with their pest control contract, which is held by Tally Pest Control of Kenner, according to The Times-Picayune.

"There are over 28 work orders active right now that [the company] hasn''t responded to," said Board member Albert "Ali" Burl.

"There are work orders since December [the company] hasn''t acted on," Burl added.

The list of problems includes ants, field mice and, last year, East St. John High School had a problem with snakes in the buildings, the article stated.

According to the article, Peter Montz, the district''s purchasing agent, believes the problem is one of communication more than service.

The district has put Tally Pest Control on a 30-day probation period to give the contractor time to resolve the issues; if they are not resolved, the contract could be terminated, the article noted.
