HARRISON COUNTY, IN — A maintenance director has filed a notice that he intends to sue several county officials, accusing them of violating his free speech rights, according to the Courier-Journal.

On Monday, David Simon sent a tort claim to county officials accusing Sheriff Rodney Seelye of false
imprisonment and Auditor Karen Engleman of defamation, the article stated.

According to the article, Simon also accuses officials of retaliation by cutting his budget, increasing his responsibilities to care for more building space and opening an investigation into use of his county-issued cell phone.

Simon''s claim states that on April 13, Seelye "intentionally confined" him in a closed area with other police officers and accused him of various violations, including tampering with physical evidence, the article noted.
