WALLINGTON, NJ — The Wallington School District is outsourcing nighttime janitorial services at the junior/senior high school, according to The Record.

The move, which Superintendent Albert Pecora has said is a trail only, could save the district more than $50,000, the article stated.

According to the article, the savings from the janitorial switch will go toward hiring more staff at the elementary level, which will see larger classroom numbers next year.

Teachers and parents have voiced their concerns about having a private company come in to their children''s school, the article noted.

Helena Moore, secretary for the parents'' group Home & School, has said the janitors have well-established relationships with students, which would be lacking with an outside company, the article added.
