Custodian retires for a second time

CHINOOK, MT — After 20 years, custodian Chester Barnes can finally retire, according to the Great Falls Tribune.

Barnes began his tenure at Chinook Schools at the age of 70, making his retirement age an astonishing 90, the article stated.

According to the article, at the final basketball game of the Chinook Sugarbeeters'' regular season, a few minutes was spent to honor Barnes, who spent much of his career caring for the court.

Superintendent Jay Eslick presented Barnes with a plaque in recognition of his 20 years of service as custodian at Chinook Schools, the article noted.

For two decades, Barnes kept the hardwood swept and mopped, picked up after dances and graduation ceremonies and washed the team''s towels after every big game, the article added.
