HOLT, MI — Custodians from Holt Public Schools have asked the board of education not to privatize their positions, according to the Lansing State Journal.
The custodians expressed to the board that while they know a decision to privatize has not been finalized or ordered by the board, that they are looking in to the option, the article stated.
According to the article, the board has promised to take public comment on the proposed outsourcing and will vote on the cost saving measure before the end of the year.
"I have kids that go to Holt and I don''t like this idea," said Brett Litwiller, a 1988 graduate and custodian.
"We have a personal interest in what we do here and have been dedicated to this district for years," Litwiller added.
