NORWAY — Urige Buta may have had to train for the 2012 Olympic marathon by running in tunnels between shifts, but the Ethiopian refugee isn''t complaining, according to Eurosport.

Buta''s training consisted of running up and down a mile-long stretch of service tunnel during the dark Nordic winter, the article stated.

According to the article, this is a far cry from the training some of his rivals will have received, with their host countries sparing no expense.

Buta fled his native Ethiopia in 2003 after his father''s arrest for being on the "wrong" side of politics, the article noted.

A citizen of Norway since 2011, Buta earns a living as a janitor, training for the marathon and spending time with his young son on breaks between shifts, the article added.
