EPAC SOFTWARE TECHNOLOGIES’ EAM/CMMS MAINTENANCE PERFORMANCE INDEX (MPI)® NAMED
PLANT ENGINEERING 2011 PRODUCT OF THE YEAR GRAND AWARD WINNER

EAST GREENWICH, RI — EPAC Software Technologies, Inc., a leading provider of Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) solutions, announces that its new Maintenance Performance Index (MPI)® has been named Plant Engineering magazine’s 2011 Product of the Year Grand Award winner, besting 100 Product of the Year finalists. The MPI is an exclusive feature of EPAC’s EAM/CMMS software that uses a unique scorecard methodology to measure overall maintenance performance against established program goals in key areas, including reliability, workforce productivity, materials management, customer service and financial performance. As a result of MPI’s common sense approach to measurement and inherent flexibility, plant and facility managers in industries as varied as manufacturing, government, health care, hospitality and service are able to use the grades to review and re-direct maintenance program priorities.

“EPAC''s EAM/CMMS Maintenance Performance Index (MPI)® was selected for our prestigious Grand Award by a vote of qualified Plant Engineering subscribers -- the people who buy, specify and use these products on a daily basis,” said Bob Vavra, Content Manager at Plant Engineering. “The use of software on the plant floor is on the rise, and the importance of proper maintenance strategies is always a crucial issue to our readers. It speaks to the importance of these two issues that EPAC would receive the award.” Plant Engineering, which reaches 70,000 plant engineers, plant managers and maintenance professionals across the country, made the announcement in its April 2012 issue.

“We are thrilled to win the Grand Award as it reinforces how important sound maintenance management is to the overall success of operating a business, as well as our leadership position in the field of enterprise asset management,” said C. Paul Oberg, President and CEO of EPAC Software Technologies. “MPI’s unique functionality offers an innovative approach to measuring maintenance performance and, ultimately, improving productivity, reducing costs and extending asset life.” Oberg added that EPAC recognizes that maintenance performance measurements may differ from organization to organization and MPI enables each company to weigh its maintenance metrics on a scale consistent with its goals and objectives.

The 24th Annual Plant Engineering 2011 Product of the Year competition for maintenance industry providers started with more than 100 finalists who offered their best ideas to improve manufacturing operations in 14 different categories. Plant Engineering conducts these awards each year so new ideas can provide a blueprint to help make incremental improvements in the ways to manage processes, data and all the resources involved in plant and facility maintenance.
