ROCKVILLE, MD — The Restoration Industry Association (RIA) presented both the Martin L. King Award and the Golden Quill Award at its annual convention, held March 27-29, according to a press release.
The Martin L. King Award was presented to Frank Headen, CR, WLS, CMH, while the 2012 Golden Quill award was presented to Dale Sailer of Relias Services Group, the release stated.
According to the release, the Martin L. King Award recognizes an individual''s exceptional service and dedication to the restoration industry.
Headen was involved the restoration efforts at the Pentagon and World Trade Centers following 9-11; the NASA facilities at the Kennedy Space Center; and the FBI Headquarters and Hyatt Regency Hotel in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina, as well as countless other high profile projects, the release noted.
Sailer received the Golden Quill award for his two-part series on the challenges restorers and insurers face when working together to close the gap between their industries, the release noted.
