MADISON, NJ — "Strangers? Not in my schools!" is an NJEA campaign aimed at protesting the consideration of outsourcing custodial services at Madison Public Schools, according to the Madison Patch.

Outsourcing is being looked at as a possible means to increase custodial presence in Madison schools, while staying within a limited budget, the article stated.

According to the article, a committee of board members and administrators plans to narrow down the field of four companies after evaluating the submissions when the committee meets after spring break.

The Madison Facilities Staff Association has made what the district would normally consider excellent offers under normal bargaining circumstances, but the district still needs to weigh the union''s offers against proposals from companies, the article noted.
