GALLATIN, TN — If the board of education decides to outsource custodial services at Sumner County Schools, custodians worry about their future, according to The Tennessean.

The issue of outsourcing more than 200 custodial jobs is on the table and is expected to be up for a vote at the school board''s April 17 meeting, the article stated.

According to the article, those in favor of the move believe it needs to be seriously considered in order to help the district focus more funding towards the classroom.

Representatives from two national cleaning companies, Ohio-based GCA Services Group and SSC Service Solutions in Knoxville, have given presentations at the board''s April 3 study session; each contractor says they could provide a higher level of efficiency at a significant savings to the county, the article noted.
