MORRIS, IL — Conditions across the country are ripe for unexpected fire flare ups, something one custodian found out the hard way, according to the Morris Daily Herald.
Low humidity and strong winds caused a small fire to ignite in the plants and brush outside of a First National Bank, the article stated.
According to the article, the bank’s custodian was outside, trying to put the fire out with his mop bucket and broom.
The custodian tried putting the fire out by pouring water from his mop bucket onto the smoke; when he ran out of water he started beating the bushes with his broom in an attempt to stop the small fire, the article noted.
