Tuesday''s Ask the Experts question from a cleaning professional on the International Custodial Advisors Network (ICAN) "Ask the Experts" page: I do the floor care at a small supermarket, which has very heavy traffic and lots of salt residue in the winter. What type of floor finish is best for this situation? The finish that I am currently using quickly deteriorates and gets pitted.
The problem may not be the finish, but the prevention of soil and contaminates getting tracked onto the floor that grinds away the finish and shine.
More frequent dust mopping and damp mopping, along with better/more entry matting, is probably part of the answer.
You''d also need to take a look at your scrubbing, burnishing and recoating frequencies to see if they are adequate for the traffic level ... — Bill Griffin, president of Cleaning Consultant Services Inc.To read the rest of this response, click here.
