Wood himself is not diagnosed, but his fiancée, Emily Niinemets, was diagnosed with aggressive lymphoma cancer in early January, the story stated.
Wood decided he wanted to help people in similar situations by spending three Saturdays per month providing free window and gutter cleaning to cancer patients because he sees what it is like to be a cancer patient, the story noted.
According to the article, Wood is donating 10 percent of all profits from his company to the BC Cancer Agency.
Wood said, "When I see my fiancée battling through this, I can see how rough it could be for someone to try to do something for themselves. I understand what it is like to have no energy and need some extra help."
For more information, contact Shawn Wood at (250) 650-1761; appointments are on a first-come first-served basis and space is limited, the story added.
