COLUMBIA, SC — When the former Columbia Bible College, now Columbia International University (CIU), needed help moving their campus, they hired Lee Morris, according to CIU News.

In 1962, Morris was 18 and hired as a temporary worker for the move, but was soon hired as a full-time employee and has been at the university ever since, the article stated.

According to the article, today, May 1, the university will honor Morris for his now 50 years of service during a faculty/staff recognition event.

During his tenure at CIU, Morris has served as a custodian and a custodial supervisor and has seen the campus undergo numerous changes, including the construction of a library and student center, neither of which existed when Morris began working at the university, the article noted.

CIU Director of Facilities Bob Register estimates that Morris has attended over 7,000 chapel services exemplifies the Christian work ethic to his co-workers and CIU students, the article added.

"Lee Morris has been a faithful, trustworthy follower of the Lord, no matter what," said Register.
