Ecolab recognized for sustainability and workplace safety

ST. PAUL, MN — Ecolab Inc. has been recognized by the American Chemistry Council (ACC) for energy efficiency initiatives at two manufacturing facilities and for employee safety at several of the company''s manufacturing sites across the U.S., according to a press release.

Energy efficiency projects at Ecolab plants in Bedford Park, Illinois, and Ellwood City, Pennsylvania, were among seven initiatives that received ACC Responsible Care Energy Efficiency Awards, the release stated.

According to the release, the awards were given to manufacturing locations within the U.S. that realized significant improvements in energy efficiency.

"Our own improved environmental results are a demonstration of what customers can expect when we apply our innovation and expertise toward their key business drivers to create and maintain additional value in their operations," said Douglas M. Baker, Jr., chairman and chief executive officer (CEO) of Ecolab.
