ROCK HILL, SC — More than 500 Riverview Elementary School students and 100 adults managed to keep a secret from two of their custodians, according to the Enquirer Herald.

On Friday, custodians Brenda Greene and Henry Stewart were crowned King and Queen for the day, the article stated.

According to the article, Principal Annette Chinchilla took up Greene and Stewart''s mop bucket and cleaning supplies, and announced that she would handle all the cafeteria clean-ups — and anything else that came up.

Students led each custodian onto the little stage at the end of the cafeteria where they were adorned with handmade sashes and capes and crowns, the article noted.

"They are family, and we love them. We cannot thank them enough for what they do each day. So, this is a way to honor them. They are royalty in our eyes," said Chinchilla.
