WINSTON-SALEM, NC — Frank Konah, a custodian at the Calvary Baptist Day School, continues to assist an orphanage and school in his native Liberia founded by his mother, according to the Winston-Salem Journal.

In the midst of devastating conflict, Konah''s mother, Comfort "Mama" Toe, decided to help many of the orphans she came across; by 1998, with the help and support of Konah in the U.S., Toe built the Comfort K. Toe Orphanage and Elementary School in Brewersville, Liberia, the article stated.

According to the article, in May, Konah, with the help of Calvary Baptist donations, was able to raise $5,000 for the orphanage in conjunction with the OAR Foundation.

While the fundraiser ended at the end of April, Konah continues to meet with members of the OAR Foundation to manage the funds for the orphanage, and additional support is still needed, the article noted.
