Mitchell Byrom earns WRT instructor certification from IICRC

Burlington, Wash. Mitchell Byrom of Restoration Sciences Academy (RSA) has been promoted to Technical Training Instructor. He has received approval from the IICRC as an instructor for WRT (Water Restoration Technician) certification courses. The IICRC (Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification) serves as an independent, non-profit certification body for the cleaning, restoration and service industries.

A native of Paducah, Kentucky, Byrom joined RSA as Technical Training Assistant in July 2011. He is based at RSA’s Claude Blackburn Education Center in Burlington, Wash. Byrom has extensive experience in restoration, starting as an estimator and moving to a Senior Large Loss Project Manager position before coming to RSA. He has also made numerous presentations at industry conventions, as well as providing CE courses to insurance adjusters in Fla., Ill., and Ken.

Byrom originally planned to gain WRT certification in one to three years after joining RSA, but through careful planning and hard work, Byrom was able to complete it in just 11 months. In addition, he expects to earn his Applied Structural Drying Instructor certification in October.

“My goal is to teach and promote best practices in the restoration industry,” he said, “I want to be part of RSA’s efforts to improve technical knowledge and raise professional standards across the board.”

In addition to supporting RSA as an instructor, he also provides technical and project support for RSA’s Burlington campus operations.

Byrom is the latest addition to a growing roster of IICRC approved Instructors joining Brandon Burton, Kevin Fisher, Brendan Kimmel, Bill Weigand and Gary Loiben as well as RSA’s full roster of contract instructors. “Adding Mitch to our roster of IICRC certified instructors will greatly enhance our ability to deliver quality classroom instruction and industry training sessions around North America,” said Brandon Burton, Technical Education Manager for RSA. “My colleagues at RSA join me in congratulating him on this important accomplishment.”
