ST. CHARLES, IL — While the Norris Recreation Center was closed for routine maintenance, workers discovered mold in a racquetball court, according to the St. Charles Patch.
A remediation crew was brought on site and immediately began tearing into the walls to begin cleaning up the problem, the article stated.
According to the article, the center closes down for two weeks in the summer for maintenance work, and the scheduled August 13 reopen date is in doubt as the district''s environmental contractor and a remediation company begin working to assess the extent of the mold and begin the cleanup.
"We''re still trying to decipher where it came from. We have an environmental contract who is there sampling all the walls to determine the extent of this," said Superintendent Dr. Donald Schlomann.
